COME TO OUR DANG BIRTHDAY

  • Biere de Garde: Clean, tucked-in Belgian ale.  5.3% ABV.
  • Meteor IPA: We have a flagship IPA now!  Belma, citra and cascade hops hurtle into your mouth on a wave of robust caramel malts. 5.6% ABV
  • Whatever IPA: It’s like, got some hops in it.  Also ashburne malt and some jaggery but back to the hops since that’s all anyone wants to gossip about. Hot, gossipy Columbus and Cascade hops.   5.6% ABV
  • Dark Mild:  Traditional British style, highly sessionable and pleasant. Molasses adds color and bite. 5.6% ABV.
  • Second Lunch: This pale ale thick af y’all.  We expected it to be crisp fall weather so we made a super full-bodied pale ale with some lactose added for extra mouth feel. WHY IS IT STILL 90 DEGREES OUTSIDE? Fuck global warming. 5.6% ABV.
  • Lavender and Chicory Gruit: This brown, hop-free malt beverage was bittered with lavender and chicory, giving the beer a smooth, earthy, herbal bitterness. 5.8% ABV.
  • Demon Summoner: We performed dire rituals to call this smoky, strong rauchbier from the depths of some Moravian barley field.  Beechwood smoke, clean malt profile, not much hoppiness. We sold our souls so you don’t have to, now that’s what I call a Total Customer Service Experience (TM). 7.1% ABV.
  • Black Lodge Porter:  Formerly known as the Peat and Anise porter, enter this dark, peaty beer and confront your fear of licorice flavors. If u  face your fears w/ imperfect courage u will be destroyed.  5.0% ABV.

DUDES WE ARE TURNING TWO!

We want to celebrate a year full of awards, laughter, beers, excavation and the best beer drinkers in St Louis with a FANTASTIC party.  Come hang with us, your other friends and all of our fantastic regulars and fans. We will have the following beers on draft:

In addition to the supremely well-curated beer selection, guests will be able to purchase food from our Corporate Best Friends Gooseberries and Byrd & Barrel, and cake will be provided by Whisk: A Sustainable Bakeshop.

Other activities include short, bumbling speeches from the owners, tunes by DJ Stephen Jehle. and a dank photobooth setup provided by Oh So Vivant!

$25 gets you a 6oz commemorative glass and five drink tickets.  Additional drink tickets available $3/per or 2 for $5.  There will be posters and shirts and shit for sale too.

Basically this is the best way to sample some of our favorite, most interesting beers from 2016 and raise a toast to another year of small batch bizarro excellence.

  • #Basic Blonde: It’s blonde, it’s thin-bodied, it’s uncomplicated.  Like Sven, that ski instructor with the abs.  You know who I’m talking about. The kind of guy who would ask “So like, do you like music and stuff?” 4.5% ABV.

Beer List: Aug 31-Sep 4.

  • Thai Basil IPA: Bright, refreshing IPA with a deep licorice-like aroma from a generous addition of Thai basil.  5.8% ABV.
  • Wheat IPA: Is it a wheat beer? Is it an IPA?  IT’S BOTH! MAGIC! 4.8% ABV.
  • Fuzzy Pickles: A higher-strength gose (salty, slightly sour wheat beer brewed with coriander) dry-hopped with sorachi ace, a hop varietal that smells like dill and lemongrass.  So good it will make you want to pose for a picture!  6.36% ABV
  • Black Wit: Crisp witbier with black malt and coffee from Kuva coffee. 3.8% ABV.
  • Apricot Gose: Y’ALLL IT’S BACK. Slightly salty, sour wheat beer with coriander.  Bright fruit character from the many apricots we sacrificed to the fermentation gods. 5.31% ABV.
  • Lavender Bragger: Alfalfa honey provides half the fermentables in this strong smooth gruit bittered with lavender. Brewed in collaboration with the National Honey Board as part of the Honey Beer Summit. 10.8% ABV.
  • Jeff Goldplum: We were so preoccupied with whether we could figure out a hop-free saison fermented on plums and rosehips that we didn’t stop to think about whether we should.  Beer…finds a way. 7.34% ABV.
  • Slam Dunkel:  Rich chocolate maltiness in a wheat beer? HELL YEAH BROTHERRRRRRRRRR.  6.8% ABV.

On deck: Cardamom Pepper Tea Blonde, Wet Look IPA.

Beer List: Aug 24-28.

  • Sage GruWit: A witbier bittered with sage and yarrow instead of hops!  Very popular when it debuted last year, we’re jazzed to bring it back! 6.0% ABV.
  • Fuzzy Pickles: A higher-strength gose (salty, slightly sour wheat beer brewed with coriander) dry-hopped with sorachi ace, a hop varietal that smells like dill and lemongrass.  So good it will make you want to pose for a picture!  6.36% ABV
  • Eucalyptus Mint IPA: An experiment based on a concept by Ryan, our front-of-house manager.  We use columbus and cascade hops for bittering our traditional pale ale grain bill, then create the aroma of hops via eucalyptus (herbal and woody) and mint (minty).  It’s got an almost Fernet like aroma, except not disgusting. 6.88% ABV.
  • Tax Evader: Huge double IPA brewed with jaggery and a truly staggering quantity of columbus and cascade hops.  Our most brewed (and asked for) beer! 11.5% ABV.
  • Apricot Gose: Y’ALLL IT’S BACK. Slightly salty, sour wheat beer with coriander.  Bright fruit character from the many apricots we sacrificed to the fermentation gods. 5.31% ABV.
  • Blueberry Saison: Our splash party saison, fermented with blueberries.  It’s really hot in the brewhouse, we’re on fruit beers right now.  6.56% ABV.
  • Summer Stout:  Based on Stuart’s secret blackberry pie recipe.  Rich, dry stout with a tart finish from blackberries and a smoky depth from cloves.  WHOOPS SECRET IS OUT.  6.1% ABV.

On deck: Jeff Goldplum, Hopped Wheat, Black Wit, Lavendar Braggot.

  • Pale Ale: Clean, tidy malt notes and earthy, herbal aroma/bitterness from British and American hops.  Shit is tucked in.  5.5% ABV
  • Gru Wit: A witbier bittered with sage and yarrow instead of hops!  Very popular when it debuted last year, we’re jazzed to bring it back! 6.0% ABV.
  • Jeffeweizen: Traditional hefeweizen! This is for all you dudes who ask “WHAT’S WEIRD ABOUT THIS ONE?!?!” as if we can’t make a normal beer that tastes fine.  4.6% ABV

  • Saxon Saison: Fancy grains, light body, dry finish, german ale yeast because we got bored with our house saison strain.  It’s quite good.  6.0% ABV.
  • Fenugreat Blonde:  A slightly biscuity, slightly tart blonde ale that smells a bit like maple syrup!  5.3% ABV.

CRAFT BEER WEEK IS COMING UP!

  • Tomahawk Slam Dunkel: Rich dark chocolate wheat beer with classic hop bitterness and aroma. Do a sick basketball move on your tastebuds!  6.8% ABV
  • Session Evader: This is a session double IPA, a slightly less-menacing take on our popular Tax Evader. Brilliant red hue, slightly roasty flavor with sweet notes from jaggery, soft fruit belma and cascade hop aroma. 8.2% ABV
  • Jeffeweizen: Traditional hefeweizen!  4.6% ABV
  • Thai Basil IPA: Light-bodied IPA with hella Thai basil aroma.  It’s also got some jaggery in it.  I am hungover and descriptions are hard. 6.5% ABV.
  • Kentucky Common: Sour brown ale based on a traditional moonshiner recipe.  It’s light, refreshing and complex! 6.6% ABV.
  • Fünke Pickles: Sour, salt, dill, coriander. funk. 5.2% ABV.
  • Saxon Saison: Fancy grains, light body, dry finish, german ale yeast because we got bored with our house saison strain.  It’s quite good.  6.0% ABV.
